|The Japanese Kanji character ‘Jin’ (shown in left-most) stands for consideration, benevolence and kindness. ‘Jin’ is the guiding principle of all our actions in human resources, development and manufacturing.|
We are committed to provide an active contribution to a happy and harmonious society.
The traditional Japanese ‘Jin’ rather than the inflationary used western term ‘love’ is our motivation to daily devote ourselves to strengthening the KEM brand and becoming a well-established company in Kyoto.
We believe that an environment where all employees have equal rights and deal with each other on the basis of mutual trust encourages creativity and innovation and is the perfect base for the development of excellent products for the benefit of society.
Since it was founded in 1961 by Nagahiko Kishimoto, KEM is focusing on innovative solutions for specific niche applications, developing and manufacturing analytical and measuring instruments for dedicated applications. Since more than half a century, monitoring systems manufactured by KEM are playing an important role in global environmental protection.
Nowadays, our analytical instruments like ‘Karl Fischer Moisture Titrators’ are widely used in research laboratories of universities and in the private industry and our ‘Continuous Analyzer for Hydrogen Chloride in Flue Gas’ is installed in waste incineration plants almost all over Japan. Since 1988, our ‘Continuous Analyzer for Mercury in Flue Gas’ has become popular to determine traces of mercury in the monitoring systems of incinerators. Recently, the increasing public awareness for the risk of heat strokes during work or sports activities motivated us to develop ‘Heat Stroke Checkers’. These instruments are rendering a valuable service in many sports facilities and working environments.
Since we acquired the ISO/IEC17025 international standard by the Japan Calibration Certification System (JCSS) in 2002, we are the first calibration company in Japan entitled to issue calibration certificates with the JCSS mark which ensures the traceability to the national measurement standards for our density standard solutions and oscillating type density meters.
In the year 2011 our calibration laboratory also got the JCSS accreditation for refractive index standard solutions and refractometers. This enables us to offer not only world-class high accuracy but also traceability for several physical parameters.
People have been exposed to much more danger not only by natural disaster, but also man-made disaster as the society becomes sophisticated and life comfortable.
A permanent dialog with our customers helps us to respond to new trends and needs in safety and environmental technologies with innovative products. Being ‘strict to work and kind to people’ and keeping in mind that ‘heaven gives the best’ forms the foundation of our daily endeavor to bring out ever more innovative products and strengthen customer relationships.Kyoko Kishimoto
